Once part of an old working granary, forge and stables, the cottage retains a strong connection to its history. Stone, timber and carefully made details bring warmth and individuality to the interior.

Sleeping arrangements

Bedrooms, beds and guest capacity.

Master bedroom
  • The master bedroom sleeps two in a double bed.
  • Equipped with built in wardrobes and a dressing table.
  • There is ample space for an infant cot.
Living area
  • There is an additional pull-out bed in the living room that can sleep two.
Rustic private annex
  • There is the option to book the adjacent rustic private annex, which can sleep an additional two adults and has its own bathroom and small living area.
  • This can be selected as an extra upon booking.
Bedroom linen
  • All linen is provided.
  • Additional duvets, blankets and pillows can be found in the wardrobes.
Living spaces

Comfortable spaces for relaxing together.

  • Historic stone building with handcrafted timber details including the full-size tree staircase.
  • The main living area is open plan with the kitchen-dinner and looks out across the surrounding fields from double aspect windows. It has a sofa that converts to a pull-out bed, coffee table, and an oak chair nestled in the embayed window.
  • Upstairs there is a relaxation space adjacent to the tree of life, perfect for mindfulness and yoga.
Kitchen & dining

Cooking, dining and household equipment.

  • The cottage is equipped with a modern integrated kitchen and a central island that also doubles as a breakfast/dinning bar for four.
  • An Aga provides two ovens and a hob top, and an additional gas hob and combination microwave-grill provide cooking facilities. Note that the Aga is only turned on in the cooler months.
  • A full-sized fridge-freezer, dishwasher and sink complete the kitchen.
  • The kitchen is equipped with a kettle and toaster, and a Nespresso coffee machine and large and small cafeterias are provided for guests.
  • Crockery, saucepans and cooking utensils are all provided.

  • The cottage is heated by underfloor heating.
  • The Aga spreads a warm glow throughout the entire cottage when it is turned on during the cooler months.
  • Guest Wi-Fi is freely available at the cottage and provides a high-speed connection to the internet.
  • The cottage is equipped with a smart TV.
  • The site and exterior of the cottage are protected by security cameras and access to the site is via electric gates and entry system.

Outside space & parking

  • Set within five acres surrounded by fields and mountains.
  • Guests have access to a private garden with raised decking area overlooking the surrounding countryside.
  • Outside seating and a dinning table and parasol are provided.
  • Ample private parking for guests.

Children
  • Infants under two years old are very welcome to stay, and we can provide a travel cot upon request.
  • Unfortunately, due to the nature of the site, we do not allow children under 18 to stay at The Tree of Life Cottage.
Pets
  • We allow up to two well behaved dogs to stay in the cottage for an additional charge of £30 per stay.
  • Dogs must be kept on a lead outside of the cottage.
Accessibility & suitabilityImportant suitability information

Important physical features to consider before booking.

  • The cottage is part of an old stone farm building and has a number of steps and level changes.
  • There is a small step to enter the font of the property and a step between the entrance hallway and kitchen living area.
  • The first floor containing the master bedroom and relaxation space is accessed via the Tree of Life spiral staircase.
  • The main garden is accessed from the living area down a set of metal stairs.

Safety & practical informationImportant suitability information

Essential information for a comfortable and informed stay.

  • The Tree of Life Cottage is set on a working equestrian farm so you will share you stay with our three resident horses and those that may also visit on occasion.
  • You are very welcome to observe the horses, but they should not be fed or touched unless supervised by Sarah.
  • There may also be farm machinery moving around during your stay as we manage the animals and paddocks.
  • The barns, stables and outbuilding are strictly out of bounds.
  • Electric fences are operational and clearly labelled.
  • Emergency and fire-safety guidance is provided in the guest information pack.

How does online booking work?

Availability, booking and secure payment is provided through bloom by freetobook.

Simply click on Book in the upper menu bar to check the availability of your chosen dates, and then you will be taken to our Holos The Tree of Life Cottage page within bloom to complete your reservation.

Where is the cottage?

The Tree of Life Cottage is in Henryd, within Eryri National Park and approximately two miles from Conwy Castle and the walled town.

Are pets or children welcome?

We allow up to two well behaved dogs to stay in The Tree of Life Cottage. Dogs must remain on a lead at all times outside of the cottage. There is an additional £30 charge per stay for pets to stay in the cottage.

Infants under two years old are welcome to stay in the cottage, but we do not allow children under 18 to stay in The Tree of Life Cottage.

What are the arrival and departure times?

Check in is between 15:00 and 20:00, and check out is between 09:00 and 10:30.

Some flexibility on check in and check out times can be accommodated upon request.

Please review these practical terms before booking your stay.

Booking & payment

If booking is made more than 42 days before arrival: A deposit of 30% of the booking total is required. The deposit will be refunded according to the cancellation conditions. Full booking balance must be paid 42 days before arrival. If booking is made 42 or less days before arrival: A deposit equal to the total cost of the booking is required. The deposit will be refunded according to the cancellation conditions.

Cancellation & refunds

If the booking is cancelled less than 30 days before arrival then a charge equal to 50% of the stay will be made. If the booking is cancelled less than 7 days before arrival then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made. If the booking is cancelled 30 or more days before arrival then a charge equal to 10% of the stay will be made. In the event of a no show or booking reduction after the guest(s) have arrived, the full cost of the booking is charged.

Standard check in is between 15:00 and 20:00, and check out is between 09:00 and 10:30. Some flexibility on check in and check out times can be accommodated upon request.

House rules

You are very welcome to observe the horses, but they should not be fed or touched unless supervised by Sarah. There may be farm machinery moving around during your stay as we manage the animals and paddocks. The barns, stables and outbuilding are strictly out of bounds. Electric fences are operational around the paddocks and are clearly labelled.
